About REACH
What is REACH?
REACH is the Regulation for Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals. It entered into force on 1st June 2007 to streamline and improve the former legislative framework on chemicals of the European Union (EU). REACH places greater responsibility on industry to manage the risks that chemicals may pose to the health and the environment.
In principle REACH applies to all chemicals: not only chemicals used in industrial processes but also in our day-to-day life, for example in cleaning products, paints as well as in articles such as clothes, furniture and electrical appliances.
All components in TLP-products have been pre-registered.
As part of the reach registration process, producers and importers of chemical substances are also required to register the uses of their products and, for those wich are hazardous, to demonstrate that they are safe to humans and the environment.
As our products are complex mixtures containing several chemical substances, it is not possible to indicate one specific use for each product. For example some products contain substances which have to remain on the fabric (e.g. softener) but also contain substances wich are only used during the production process (e.g. emulsifier). Therefor TLP International will ensure that all components will be registered for all identified uses.
In the months to come customers will receive a statement in which the uses of our products are described.
It is possible that customers use our products in another way than we advice in our technical leaflets if so we will investigate the possibilities to add these uses.
